There have been speculations on the projects that comedian Vadivelu would be a part of in 2021. The industry buzz is that the actor would never feature in a Tamil film unless he pays his dues to director Shankar for the shelved project, 24am Pulikesi. The actor walked off the shoot of the film midway and Shankar took the issue to Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TFPC), who gave the comedian a red card. Despite that, Vadivelu has signed a flurry of sequels to his blockbuster films Chandramukhi, Thalai Nagaram, Kamal Haasan’s Thalaivan Irukkiran (Thevar Magan sequel) and a web series. A source in the industry told DT Next, “He also has a film with director Suraaj in which he has been signed to play the lead. However, Shankar is persistent that TFPC shouldn’t allow him or his producers to sign him for another film until he clears his dues.” There have been reports that the comedian has been snubbing directors by not listening to scripts. Now, TFPC should take a decision regarding Vadivelu.
