The reports said that the distributor of the film has also confirmed the same. When we contacted a source close to the production unit, he told DT Next, “I wonder how will the streaming rights be sold to Netflix when Amazon Prime has already bagged the rights of Master. The terms and conditions can’t be terminated now.” The source also confirmed that the film will initially release in theatres. “We are clear that Master will first release in theatres and only then will stream on OTT. As of now, we are looking at Pongal. However, we need to take into consideration the situation and the availability of vaccine to bring people to theatre as Master could be the first big theatrical release after COVID-19. We will know on the release plans in the next couple of weeks.”
