Vaibhav's 'Katteri' Release Postponed Over COVID-19 Second Wave Concern
Actor Vaibhav's upcoming movie 'Katteri' was all set to have a theatrical release for Christmas. But, in a sudden change of plans, the production house of the movie, Studio Green, has announced that they are postponing the release of the film due to the threat of a second wave of COVID-19.

In the official press release, "Considering the new the new threat of the second wave and having everyone's safety in mind we as a production house have the responsibility to take precautionary action since we are in uncertain times and situation now. Taking into consideration of hundreds of technicians and craftsmen's hardwork not getting showcased well. We regret to inform you that we are postponing the release of our Tamil feature film Katteri in theatres for now, (sic)" the makers announced.
However, the statement also mentioned that a theatrical release date will be announced once the situation improves. "But will surely be out soon on theatres as the situation gets better and the threat gets dissolved, looking forward to announce the release date soon," the release added.
'Katteri', a horror-comedy directed by 'Yaamirukka Bayamey' fame Deekay has a heavy star cast including Vaibhav, Aathmika, Sonam Bajwa, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Karunakaran in the lead roles. Prasad SN who earlier worked with Deekay has scored the music.
'Katteri' was originally planned for an OTT release. But the producers opted to have a theatrical release considering the upcoming holiday season and the movie was expected to pull crowds.
