3:33 will be a pure horror film sans comedy and songs: Director

“It means that the hero is experiencing paranormal situation when the time is 3:33. Number 666 is considered a bad omen and 333 is half of it. Whether or not the hero comes out of the situation is the crux of the story,” director Nambikkai Chandru told DT Next. Produced by Jeevitha Kishore of Bamboo Trees Productions, the film has debutante Shruti playing the lead. Reshma Pasupuleti, Mime Gopi, Saravanan and Rama too play crucial roles.

Chandru revealed that the film will have no songs or comedy track. “Being a debut director, I have a lot to prove. I penned the script in a way that songs and comedy scenes weren’t required. 3:33 will be packed with 120 minutes of horror. Moreover, we have seen quite a few horror comedies in the last decade. So much so that people have started laughing at ghosts on screen. So, I want them to experience a film like how Hollywood horror films were made in the 90s. In fact, Sandy liked the idea and has delivered a neat performance,” he explained.

Chandru said that the shooting has almost been completed. “We just have one promo song to be shot. We will call it a wrap after that,” he remarked.
