CHENNAI:The much-anticipated film of Raghava Lawrence, Rudhran that was shot amid pandemic, now officially has a release date. The makers of the film, on Sunday made an official announcement that the film will hit the screens on December 23. Talking to DT Next, the director and the producer of the film, Kathiresan of Five Star Creations, said, “As a director, Rudhran was a great learning experience. Having been in the industry for quite some time, I would say producing and directing the film wasn’t tasking.

Sarathkumar plays the baddie opposite Lawrence. “He is one of the best actors we have in the industry and easily gets into the skin of any character so well. His role will be something similar to that of Arjun in Irumbuthirai. Only a strong antagonist can make the protagonist role look better,” Kathiresan remarked.
On choosing December 23 as the release date, Kathiresan said, “It is a family entertainer and we want all section of the audience to have fun in theatres, which is why we chose December 23 as the release date.”
