What makes a film global is the content, says Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir was candid about his statement on his remarks Alia’s pregnancy. “I really didn’t intend it that way. I am aware that it went on to become a sensitive thing in some quarters and if it sounded that way, I apologise,” he said.
CHENNAI: Actor-producer Ranbir Kapoor was in Chennai on Wednesday to promote his upcoming magnum-opus Brahmastra Part One: Shiva directed by Ayan Mukerji. The actor shared the stage with co-star Nagarjuna and director SS Rajamouli, who will be presenting the film across south languages. The actor spoke to DT Next when asked if he has managed to break through into the global movie scene with Brahmastra that will take the audience into the Astraverse with the first instalment. “I strongly believe that it is the content that makes a film global and once the film releases on September 9, it grabs the eyeball it deserves,” he told us.
While Rajamouli is releasing it in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, Ranbir added that a few global players are involved in releasing it in other countries. “Disney has come forward to release it in huge number of screens. Here we have Rajamouli, who is a world-renowned director. However, to sustain a strong run, the content should strike the right chord with the audience as it is the king. I hope the story of Brahmastra does it,” he opened up.

Alia Bhatt who joined the press conference via a video message said that she has been consuming more south films lately. “I loved Vijay’s Master and recently Kamal sir’s Vikram. South films have been doing very well and Brahmastra too would join the list,” she said.
