120 days of shoot left for Kamal’s Indian 2 unit

CHENNAI: While there have been several questions surrounding Indian 2 ever since it resumed on Wednesday, we hear that the shoot of the film will be wrapped up only in the first half of 2023.

Sources close to the film unit told DT Next, “The movie has just resumed and 120 days of shoot is left to go. Shankar will be shooting Indian 2 and RC15 simultaneously.”

While Shankar in a tweet clarified that he will be shooting both these films in parallel, rumours were abuzz that Vasanthabalan will be shooting the non-Kamal portions in Indian 2 while Shankar will direct portions involving the actor starting from September.

“No these are baseless rumours. Shankar will be shooting for Indian 2 for 15 days in a month while RC15 will be filmed across 10 days in a month. 80 per cent of RC15 is completed. Indian 2 will go on till next April and the film will release in the early second half of 2023. We could also anticipate an Independence Day weekend release for the film next year,” the source added.

The shoot of Indian 2 is taking place at Chennai’s Ezhilagam building with Bobby Simha. Kajal Aggarwal will join the unit soon. The movie also has Siddharth and Karthik Muthuraman in important roles. Jointly produced by Lyca and Red Giant, Anirudh Ravichander composes the music.
