Actor-producer Nitinsathyaa is back as the protagonist with the upcoming film Koduvaa that was launched with a pooja in Chennai on Monday. Produced by Blaze Kannan and Srilatha Blaze Kannan of Dwaraka Productions, the film will start rolling in Ramanathapuram in the first week of September. “Koduvaa is a script that came to me for production as well. We discussed names like Guru Somasundaram and SJ Suryah initially to play the role. After a few rounds of doctoring and filtering the script, Suresh Sathaiah, the director asked if I could play the role and I gave a stare. But when I heard the final version I was taken aback. The base of the script had the potential to expand and weave itself to several layers such as emotion, revenge and romance. I am a happy producer and Koduvaa’s content will satiate the actor in me,” he told DT Next.

Nitinsathyaa pauses for quite a while when we ask him about his character. “I play a guy who works in a prawn hatchery in Ramanathapuram. I have been doing my homework to go about my role,” added the actor. He said that there is more to it. “I will be going on a complete makeover in terms of look, which will be revealed in the first look. We are shooting in a single stretch for 30 days. The film will stay true to its nativity like Subramaniapuram or Paruthiveeran or a Kalavani. It will be raw with the right commercial elements in place,” he concluded.

Samyuktha plays the female lead while Santhana Bharathi, Aadukalam Naren, Aadukalam Murugadoss and Vinod Sagar play crucial roles. Dharan Kumar is incharge of music and VJ Sabu Joseph handles the editing.
