From playing a 12-year-old child suffering from progeria at the age of 67 to 102-year-old man in the movie he has essayed characters across ages.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, let's take a look at a films where the megastar has experimented with his looks.
DESH PREMEE
In Manmohan Desai’s directorial ‘Desh Premee’, Big B portrayed the role of Master Dinanath, a liberation warrior during the pre-Independence era. He also played a dual role by playing his kid in the film, whose name was Raju.
LAAWARIS
In the movie ‘Laawaris’, Amitabh got into the character of woman. He wore women's clothing including sarees, lehengas and salwar suits for the song 'Mere Angne Mein.’
SHAHENSHAH
In the film Shahenshah, the 80-year-old actor switched from a not-so-brave police officer to a man armed with an iron hand to fight crime. The movie and his look were appreciated by the audience.
JHOOM BARABAR
Amitabh Bachchan had a short role in the ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’ movie and he appeared as Sutradhar in the title song. He experimented with his look for the song and everyone admired his bohemian style.
THE LAST LETTER
The megastar has not only experiments with his clothes for the film but with his hair as well. Big B had a grey-coloured blunt hairstyle in Rituporna Ghosh’s ‘The Last Lear’ film.
PAA
In the movie ‘Paa’, Amitabh played a 12-year-old child named Auro, with progeria. And he donned a bald look for his character. For the first time in movie history, Abhishek Bachchan portrayed the role of father to his real-life father in the movie.
102 NOT OUT
In the film ‘102 Not Out’, Amitabh Bachchan played Dattatraya Vakharia, a 102-year-old man who is the father of Rishi Kapoor, who essayed the role of Babulal Vakharia, a 76-year-old man. The film also featured the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
THUGS OF HINDOSTAN
The iconic actor portrayed Khudabaksh Azaad, a courageous warrior under the British era in India, in the 2018 film’ Thugs of Hindostan’. He donned a never seen avatar for this film.
