Most people don’t know that ayurveda, naturopathy and yoga can impact the lives of children with autism for the better. A combination of the three is the holistic way of bettering the quality of lives in the long run, as opposed to modern medical treatments.
What are the challenges faced in terms of awareness?
Firstly, a new dynamic strategy has to be undertaken to make people from BPL and low income families aware of autism. Even to this day, they remain unaware about the existence of it, not knowing the steps to help the children. Secondly, most people and organisations working towards bringing awareness on autism are trying to normalise it. That is not the right approach, the key is to highlight it and speak of the various measures one can take to help an autistic child.
