DMK MLAs have been scoring big for asking pointed questions and at times, they have even come prepared with enough data that makes the Minister concerned and several other leaders take note of the issues quite carefully.
But, apart from EPS and a handful of leaders, most AIADMK MLAs have ask dull questions which don’t evince any reactions. Moreover, their speeches follow the old formula of lavish praise for former Chief Ministers, M G Ramachandran, J Jayalalithaa, and for current leaders, such as Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswami, and O Panneerselvam. And if that’s not enough, some of the AIADMK MLAs go on to praise leaders who hail from their respective districts.
Such is the impact of their speeches that even Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, often walk out of the Assembly when AIADMK MLAs commence their address. Even Speaker P Dhanapal was seen away from his seat during some speeches that went on and on.
On Thursday, when the demand on grants on Energy department was taken up even the Power Minister P Thangamani was not found in his seat when an AIADMK MLA was speaking on the issue.
