But in contrast, superstar Rajinikanth, whose political entry was a much-awaited event, has maintained a stoic silence over it.

After announcing his political entry on December 31, 2017, Rajinikanth immediately converted his fans association into Rajini Makkal Mandram, which was seen as a precursor to his floating a political party.

However, he continued to act in movies without revealing his political plan. After the Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha polls, he declared that he would not contest the Parliamentary polls but would focus on Tamil Nadu assembly polls in 2021.

Meanwhile, the draft education policy stirred a new controversy over the alleged imposition of Hindi in the non-Hindi speaking States. With even younger actors like Suriya taking a stand on the issue, the supporters of Rajinikanth are clearly unhappy and have taken to the social media against the superstar keeping curiously quiet.

While the actor is shooting for the upcoming action-drama Darbar, which is directed by ace AR Murugadoss, supporters of Rajinikanth have started wondering whether he is even serious about entering politics.

With the Rajini Makkal Mandran, which had been actively engaged in gathering supporters until a few months ago, going silent, scores of ardent supporters who are still rooting for the superstar have no choice but to keep fingers crossed, say some RMM members.
