They have been posting images of lawyers and judges flouting traffic rules on social media with captions which claim that the judiciary which imposed the helmet rule is flouting it blatantly, made rounds in social media and among journalists’ groups in the past few days.
Interestingly, the police personnel who posted the photos, also lamented that no action was taken against the lawyers, ignoring the fact that it is their department which is expected to get hold of traffic violators in the legal fraternity.
Perhaps, the police are hoping that just as it happened in the case of the sub-inspector of police, these photographs might somehow grab the attention of senior judges who could do something against their fraternity, highlighting their inability to rein in erring lawyers.
But, casual conversations with officers in the city revealed that that a handful of lawyers have been booked for flouting traffic rules.
