Chennai
I was born and brought up in Chennai. I completed BBA and worked in the administration department of a consultancy company for seven years. As I started getting fewer projects from the company, I thought of starting my own business. Then, I opened a bike showroom in 2017.
Earlier, there was only two or three showrooms in the locality, but in these two years at least five showrooms have opened and the competition has become quite tough. The customers we get look for a lot of offers and discounts, but if we give agree to their demands, we will run in losses. Whenever business becomes slow, I put up a banner in front of the shop stating we offer free helmets.
It attracts a lot of customers and business improves. Even though my presence is constantly required at the shop, my family is my priority and I don’t mind missing out on a deal if it means being there by my family. Also, I keep my shop shut during festivals and public holidays because I want to spend time with them. I know business will improve if I keep my shop open all days and spend more hours at work, but if we focus only on business, we will miss many things life. Family should always come first.
