I am working as a delivery executive for an online food delivery app. I am from Chennai and have studied till Class 10. I could not study further because of my family’s financial situation. My mother passed away when I was in school and my father was also very sick. Because of this, I had to start working. Now, I have to take care of my father, stepmother and siblings. I could secure the job as it did not require an educational qualification. I used to work after school hours even when I was studying.
As a delivery executive, there are a few problems we face on a daily basis. Even when the restaurants have some issue with the order customers argue with us.
Even if it’s raining, we have to deliver the order. Also, we have to work late into the night. Traffic issues and navigation system problems are some of the other challenges I face at work. However, I earn about Rs 500 a day. I want to own a restaurant in the future and I am working hard to save for it.
