Ebenezer Thangaraj (28), Bakery owner
I was born and brought up in Chennai. I have studied up to Class 10 and I could not continue education after that. I started working at a provisional store of a relative after that. My uncle used to advise me to open a bakery from a young agar. Even I liked the idea. With the help of a few friends who were already in the business, I opened my own bakery in Perungalathur in 2014. Initially, I don’t know how to bake cakes, puffs or other items. I used to hire people with experience. I also made sure that I gave the best quality products to my customers. That was the trick of my business. When the quality is best, they keep coming back and so I got many loyal customers. I keep my shop open even on Sundays and till 10 pm. I have many regular customers now. Sometimes I get pre-orders too. My regulars call me in advance and order food, otherwise, it will be sold out by the time they reach my shop. I have many future plans for the bakery. I would develop it at the right time and believe that God would lead me for that. Now, with experience I have learned to bake and do it myself. I got married last year and blessed with a baby boy. I want to the best for him.
