Not all in BJP are DMK-haters. The principal opposition party – or at least its president MK Stalin – seems to have some silent admirers in the saffron party, too.

One such admirer who revealed himself is BJP State vice-president BT Arasakumar, who declared on Sunday that Stalin would be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The BJP leader called Stalin the most charismatic leader he had met after former chief minister MG Ramachandran. He also let his admiration known to Stalin when he explained the great pains he took to catch a final glimpse of the late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi. Such was his fawning that senior DMK leaders and district secretaries KN Nehru and KR Periyakaruppan were seen struggling to control their jubilation after the BJP leader said that though he does not want to call Stalin the next CM, a statement which was being overused by many of late, he has no reservations in proclaiming that the DMK president would lead the State soon.
A happy Arasakumar did not even shy away from using a few catch phrases that only the sycophants in DMK use to describe Stalin. While even the DMK insiders were taken aback by the out-of-the-blue comments by the BJP leader, his admiration for Stalin did not go unnoticed within his party, who were quick to report it to the national high command. Unsurprisingly, the wedding speech triggered rumours about the BJP leader defecting to the DMK camp soon.
