D Madhumitha (30), Photographer
I am from Tiruchy and came to Chennai after getting married in 2014. Ever since I was kid, I loved taking photographs, but I began to take it seriously after my son Siddhanth was born. My first photoshoot was for my son. I rented a few lights required for shoot and carried it out successfully. After being impressed with the photographs, my husband Deepan suggested I take up photography as a profession. In 2016, I bought a camera and launched Blueturtle photography. As I was new in this field, I stuck to only maternity photoshoots. With experience, I learned many new things about photography and was able to handle the camera much better. With the support of the family, I expanded my sessions and began to cover small events such as birthday parties and traditional ceremonies. I feel that Blueturtle photography helped me come out of the emotional and physical struggles faced by most mothers after childbirth. I would like to encourage all the women out there who are like me to follow find their passion and follow it. I believe I can get better at my job as I am working hard to learn new techniques and tricks, and I enjoy every moment of it. I also get party orders regularly. Many of my clients have been referring me to their friends and relatives as they are happy with the photographs I clicked. I am very grateful for my husband’s support which pushed me into this journey.
