10 Karaikal men arrested by Sri Lankan navy
In a fresh incident, 10 Indian fishermen were arrested by the Lankan navy on Thursday for trespassing into the territorial waters of the island nation

Ten fishermen from Karaikal were arrested by Sri Lankan naval personnel on Thursday for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line and fishing near Point Pedro in the island nation.
“The fishermen were in a boat owned by one Veeramani when they were arrested,” Deputy Director of Fisheries Kalimuthu said.
Meanwhile, the remand of six fishermen from this coastal town, arrested on Nov 26, was extended to Dec 21 by Judicial Magistrate Glacia Alex Raja in Munnar.
Five other fishermen from Rameswaram and four from Pudukottai, who were also arrested on the same date, were produced before Jaffna Judicial magistrate Sarojini Ilangovan and remanded till Dec 23, officials quoting information from Sri Lanka said.
