This is in contrast to the situation in the past few years when the sanctuary witnessed a sharp decline in the number of winged visitors, ornithologist and Deputy Director of Bombay Natural History.
Society Dr S Balachandran said. Species like the Slender-billed gulls, Painted Storks, Spoon-bills and Pelicans, which are considered rare, have arrived in good numbers now, he said.
