Pawan Gupta, presented ‘Talk To Convince’ at a session conducted by TiE Chennai, talks about the importance of presentation for entrepreneurs, especially with respect to investors
What is the significance of presentation?
It is an art of persuasion and the medium for conveying your agenda.
What are the pointers one must follow?
Most often, entrepreneurs lose track of their agenda and the objective of their presentations. The purpose of the presentations is to take them from say point A to point B — this has to come through clearly. There has to be adequate brainstorming to understand the means through which they can meet their objective. And, presentations have to be customised for the audiences.
How does one assess the impact the presentation has made?
I have always stressed that feedback is another important element of presentation. In fact, a feedback route has to be factored in the presentation one makes. A good presentation always has means to gauge the reach and response. One must understand they have to make an effect.
