Road repair to be completed by Feb 10

Corporation sources said that the tender to relay roads was already floated and works in some areas like Valasaravakkam, Virugambakkam, Vadapalani and Kodambakkam were being taken up in the night, to avoid traffic congestion. Sources added that works would be completed by February 10 and that workers are carrying out the repair on a war footing. “We are not only covering severely damaged roads, even small pits on main roads are being fixed in accordance with the convenience of motorists,” said an official from Bus Route and Road department (Corporation of Chennai). The official also added that they were inspecting even interior roads, as they have received a barrage of complaints from the public.
