Mahakumbabishegam in three temples tomorrow
The Maha Kumbabishegam of three famous temples in Puducherry will be performed tomorrow

Kumbabishgam of the Thirukkameswarar temle at Villianur near here,The Thirukkanji Sri Gangavaraha Nadeeswarar temple and the Sri Varadaraja Perumal temple will be held between 0730 hours and 1000 hourstomorrow.
The Kumbabishegam at the Thirukkanji Gangavaraha Nandeeswaran temple is being performed after a gap of 48 years. The temple where the 3000 year old Lingam was installed is situated on the banks of river Sankarabharani. The renovation work of the temple was completed at a cost of Rs.3 crores and the Kumbabishegam being held.
According to temple trust sources,a 12000 sq ft Yagasaala was arranged on the banks of the river Sankarabharani near the temple in which 500 people could perform the pooja at a time. The Kumbabishegam will be held between 0900 hours and 1000 hours.
Puducherry chief minister N Rangasamy,Lok Sabha member R Radhakrishnan,legislator Theni C Jayakumar,Hindu religious Institutions secretary Sundera Vadiv elu among others will take part.
The Thirukkameswarar temple,which is the biggest one in Puducherry is 1000 years old.The temple renovation works at a cost of Rs.11 crores was completed and the Kumbabishegam will be performed between 0900 hours and 1000 hours tomorrow.
The Varadaraja Perumal temple on the Mahatma Gandhi street here is also a famous temple here.As per the diary of Anandarangapillai,when the Vedapureeswarar temple was attacked during the French regeme,the idols from the temple was shifted to the Varadarajaperumal temple and protected.
Kmarabishegam in the temple would also be performed between 0900 and 1000 hours. Police have made elaborate security arrangements in the wake of the Kumbabishegam in three temples here tomorrow.
