Shaastra to fund winners for fellowships
The top 40 winners of Shaastra, IIT Madras’ annual technical festival, will be provided with a two-month summer fellowship to undertake research, IIT-M director Dr Bhaskar Ramamurthi said on Wednesday

Stating that the funds for this would be met by Shaastra itself, he said the four-day festival that will begin on January 23 will include lectures by Dr Kamlesh Lulla, chief scientist, NASA astronaut training programme, and Dr Udayakumar who devised the current symbol of the Indian rupee. A total of 15,000 students have registered for the programme, he added. Aerofest, B-Events and Coding are some of the events listed for the techno carnival.
