Afsal, in his complaint, said that Balaji and his wife Usha forged documents and leased out an apartment at Maduravoyal, that actually belongs to a person named Arumugham. “I had approached Balaji to get my lease amount back when the contract period got over. Balaji asked me for three months’ time and I had agreed. But he refused to repay the amount even after three months. Recently, the Union Bank of India authorities came to my apartment and told me that they are going to attach the property for not paying the loan by the owner Arumugham,” Afsal told DT Next. He said when the bank authorities told him about the real owner, only then did he realise that Balaji and his wife had cheated him.
“I do not know who this Arumugham is and I had paid the money to Balaji. When I approached the Maduravoyal police, they refused to even entertain my complaint and behaved very rudely,” Afsal alleged.
He then decided to lodge a complaint with the city Commissioner of Police as local police refused to help. “My lease agreement got over eight months ago and I am ready to vacate the house immediately if I get my lease amount back. Police said my complaint would be forwarded to Anna Nagar DC for further investigation,” he added.
