Edge for AIADMK: Survey
A pre-election survey carried out in various parts of the state has revealed that a majority (33.3 per cent) of those who were interviewed said that they would vote for the ruling AIADMK in the ensuing elections while 33.1 per cent said that they would elect the DMK.

The survey, which was done by People Studies, a multi-disciplinary research institute between January 7 to 19 with 5,464 respondents spread over 120 assembly constituencies was released by Prof S Rajanayagam of the institute at a press conference in the city on Saturday.
According to the survey, the free fan, mixie and grinder scheme topped the list of welfare schemes with 23.6 per cent, followed by laptop for students (21.1 per cent) and marriage assistance (14.5 per cent). Interestingly only a mere 0.8 per cent said they do not want any kind of freebies from the government.
The survey, which also had a question on people’s favourite actor, revealed that Ajith lead the chart with 16 per cent, followed neck and neck by Rajinikanth (15.9 per cent).
According to 30.1 per cent of the surveyed respondents, tiredness resulting from hard labour was one of the major reasons for increased rate of liquor consumption in the state.
