With this Mr.Rangasamy will be  getting an opportunity to hoist the national flag on both the Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations  this year owing to absence of a full-fledged  Lt.Governor for the Union Territory.

It may be noted that after ousting Virendra Kataria as the Lt.Governor of Puducherry, more than two  years ago, the BJP Government at the Centre, had given an additional charge of Puducherry to  Lt.General (Retd) A K Singh, the Lt.Governor of Andaman and Nicobar, as the government failed to appoint a full fledged Lt.Governor for the union territory, which is having an elected government and legislative assembly till date.

Since Mr.Singh will have to hoist the national flag at Andaman, he entrusted the responsibility to chief Mr Rangasamy. The Chief Minister, on behalf of the Lt.Governor, would also host a tea party at  Rajnivas tomorrow evening.
