How did you decide to come up with a programme to teach art to kids?
I started out as an art teacher and realised children need a variety of experiences to assist them in exploring their environment and come up with ideas for creating art. Then I worked towards designing and developing a standardised teaching technique that grooms and mentors students individually and effectively to visualise things and gives them a creative space.
How important is it to let children be creative and visualise in an era of cut-throat competition among peers?
Through art and creativity children learn to value their own uniqueness and to appreciate the individuality of others. It is extremely important to give that space to kids and let them follow their heart. Teachers at Global Art will assist them through the use of various art mediums and techniques and the process contributes to all aspects of a child’s growth through art.
What are your future plans?
In Chennai, we have also launched a junior programme now for younger kids. We just hope to empower children by helping them think creatively and visualise.
