Even as the body of 19-year-old Monisha, one of the three girls students who had allegedly committed suicide on January 23, was shifted to Chennai to perform fresh autopsy as per the court order, there was a hope again for the students of SVS Medical College of Yoga and Naturopathy, whose future remained a question mark due to the closure of the college.
The University had already withdrawn its affiliation to the ill-fated college, which was closed following agitation by students and political parties in the wake
of the suicide of three girl students.
As students and their parents thronged the varsity premises in the city today, Vice-Chancellor Dr S Geethalakshmi met them and gave the assurance.
Speaking to reporters after meeting the students, the Vice-Chancellor said action will be taken against the college management if it was found guilty.
''I will go through the records and action will be taken accordingly. The future of the students will be our primary concern and we will shift all registered students to other colleges so that their exams does not get affected,'' she added.
The Parents of one of the affected students said, the VC has agreed to shift the students to another college.
The students have also filed a petition with the Chief Minister's Special Cell.
