The health officials have intensified monitoring of water bodies ahead of the north east monsoon and they added that they are in the process of clearing unwanted bushes to prevent breeding of mosquitos and venomous insects.
According to officials, they had already distributed lakhs of mosquito nets and ‘Nochi’ plants to control mosquito menace. “In fact, we have already been creating awareness on dos and don’ts and there is no fever case reported so far in the city limits. Further, we have visited households located near water-bodies particularly rivers,” said a health official.
Residents could also contact the concerned zonal level health officials for any health related issues, the official added. The health officials are also distributing herbal decoction to students and public as a preventive measure.
The Corporation workers are on a drive to visit all the households in the city to insist on removal of trash and to educate the residents on keeping their surroundings clean. “We have appointed workers, who will visit the households located near waterbodies. We are monitoring if anybody have contracted any infection,” a health department official said.
