As part of Swacch mission, Bedi visits Kanagan lake

On seeing the creepers deep into the water in the lake, Dr Bedi ordered the officials, who accompanied her, to remove it in a couple of days. She also said that she would visit the lake again after two days.

Dr Bedi, ever since assuming office as the Lt Governor of the Union Territory has been visiting each of the 84 lakes in Puducherry and directing officials to maintain them properly after getting an on the spot assessment. The residents of that area complained to her that the environment is being polluted due to cement factory godown there and the frequent shuttling of lorries.
