To stop plastics use, youth give away cloth bags
In order to promote a plastic-free environment, a youth organisation working against plastic usage commenced distributing cloth bags to the households across the city as a sustainable alternative for plastic bags and appealed the public to switch to cloth bags forever.

Members of Thanneer organisation, which propagates against using plastic, along with the students of Jamal Mohammed College, Tiruchy, on Sunday organised a massive procession to awareness against the plastic use and distributed cloth bags to the residents from TVS Tollgate to Sengulam Colony.
They explained the ill effects of plastic and urged the residents to stay away from plastic bags under any circumstance.
According to the organisation secretary KC Neelamegam, they have planned to distribute cloth bags to the residents of the entire city.
The volunteers have earlier distributed bags to the public during festival times including Aadi Perukku, Vinayaka Chathurthi.
