Hindu Ilaingar Peravai men assembled at the Head Post Office at Madurai and shouted slogans condemning Karnataka government and demanding the state to open Cauvery water for Tamil Nadu. Then they posted lemons and Thirukkural book into the post box addressed to the Karnataka Chief Minister.
“Karnataka government, on one hand is not following Supreme Court order and on the other hand was a mute spectator when goons attacked Tamil people and their properties there. The attitude of Karnataka government is highly objectionable and this would disturb the federal setup of our country,” they said.
The state’s continuous disobedience to Supreme Court orders has lowered the respect of the Apex Court, they added. Hence the lemons are sent to cool down Siddaramaiah and a Thirukkural book was posted for him to acquire sound knowledge and to act constructively for the welfare of the entire country said the cadres.
