Psychopath serial killer held

Tiruverumbur police secured a psychopath youth who had reportedly committed eight murders for jewels and cash on Thursday.

It is said, on September 7, Thangadurai (38) of Vengur near Tiruverumbur in Tiruchy, a businessman went missing and two days later the police recovered his body from a canal in Pathalapettai while his motor cycle was recovered at a stone quarry in Valavanthankottai. A special team headed by DSP Kalaiarasan was formed and the team traced the mobile IMEI and found that one Sappani (35) of Krishnasamudram was using his mobile. 

Subsequently, the police secured Sappani a few days back and he confessed that he had murdered Thangadurai, who is also known to him earlier and took away cash of Rs 1 lakh and his jewels. 

Further interrogation, shocked the police because Sappani was found to be involved in a series of chain snatching cases and had committed nearly seven more murders for want of money and jewels since 2012. He also confessed that he had buried the bodies along the Krishnasamudram canal. Police have been searching for the list of missing persons in the locality. 

In the meantime, the police have decided to exhume the bodies buried by Sappani. Further inquiries are on.
