Large number of people witness Ramkumar’s burial at Meenakshipuram

The accused in the Swathi murder case Ramkumar was buried at his native village of Meenakshipuram near Sengottai in Tirunelveli district, on Sunday. After the completion of post-mortem at Government Royapettai Hospital his body was taken via ambulance from Chennai to his native village.

Though it was expected that the body would reach by the midnight of Saturday the ambulance was stopped at various points and people paid respect to him. The body finally reached Meenakshipuram in the noon and large number of people gathered in the village since midnight. Heavy police force was also deployed since Saturday at the village. Political leaders like John Pandian, founder, Tamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, Kadaiyanallur MLA Mohammed Abubacker and VCK functionaries paid respect to Ramkumar and consoled the family

Initially there was confusion regarding the time of burial. His lawyer, Ramaraj, said that body would be buried only after getting permission from the kin. He said that they are going to seek CBI investigation in Swathi murder case. But the body was buried in the evening.
