As against the sanctioned strength of 75 judges, the appointment of the 15 judges will take up the strength of the judge from the present 39 to 54.
The new list features nine lawyers and six district judges being elevated from subordinate judiciary. It may be noted that the high court had originally sent a list of 30 names of which the Supreme Court cleared the appointment of 24 names, in two batches. Sources claim that the process of appointing 15 more judges have already commenced to ensure that the court had its full strength of 75 judges.
