Police interrogate Sasikala Pushpa in Thoothukudi
Based on direction of Supreme Court Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa and her family members appeared before the Pudukottai police in Thoothukudi on Monday in connection with a sexual torture case booked against them.

Banumathi, one of the maids of Sasikala Pushpa, filed a complaint levelling sexual harassment case against Sasikala, her husband Lingeshwaran, her son Pradeep, and her mother Gowri. Based on the complaint a case was booked against Sasikala and three others at the Pudukottai All Women Police Station in Thoothukudi.
Though police tried to arrest Sasikala Pushpa, the Supreme Court ordered not to detain her for six weeks twice. However, the Supreme Court ordered Sasikala Pushpa to cooperate with the police in the investigation. In the meantime, Sasikala and her family filed an anticipatory bail in the Madras High Court (Madurai Bench), but the court rejected the bail petition. Following the direction of Supreme Court Sasikala Pushpa and her family members appeared at Pudukottai All Women Police Station. She was interrogated by DSP Seemachami, Inspectors, Annathai and Nagakumari. Sources at the station claimed that 700 questions were prepared for interrogating Sasikala Pushpa.
She was interrogated in the morning and was followed by her husband and son in the afternoon. She was interrogated for close to four hours and extended complete support to the interrogation. Following that she left to Chennai in the evening flight said the police sources.
