Bus owners, agents clash over picking passengers
Mattuthavani omni bus stand witnessed tense moments on Monday night as bus owners, workers and ticket agents of private operators clashed with each other in Madurai.

The dispute erupted due to getting passengers for their buses at the Mattuthavani Omni bus stand. Police said that the bus owners and ticket agents were always at loggerheads in Madurai omni bus stand and many times the passengers were left in the lurch.
On Monday, there was similar fight between the bus operators and ticket agents in issuing tickets for the passengers. As there was previous enmity between them a worker of Lucky Travels, Anvardin, was attacked by a gang of bus owners and drivers. Six people were booked in connection with the incident.
They were identified as Thangapandian, owner of Lakshmi Travels, Raja, Manimaran of Karpaga Vinayagar Travels, Kodeeswaran of National Travels, Sundar, owner of Jeyam Travels and Muthu, driver of Jeyam Travels. When the news of Anvardin reached his friends they attacked Thangapandian of Lakshmi Travels. A counter case was filed in which seven persons were booked.
They were identified as Mari, Kali, Hanifa, Saddiq, Samsu, Arif and Murugan who are working as ticket agents at omni bus stand said the police.
