Senior Investigators from National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), Lister and Iniyan, had visited the house of the victims at Dindigul, on Friday, and interacted with the parents of Dalit youth, Sivagurunathan, who was murdered by the kin of the caste Hindu girl.

During the investigation Palaniammal, mother of Sivagurunathan, claimed that her son Sivagurunathan and the girl were in love and the girl’s family was aware of this. “Sivagurunathan had the mobile numbers of her father and brother stored in his mobile. My son and the girl had taken several photos together,” she said. Photos of the two posing together which were stored in Sivagurunathan’s laptop were shown to the NCSC members.

Palaniammal also revealed that once when the entire family, expect Sivagurunathan, was away for four days, the girl had stayed in their house along with Sivagurunathan. She suspected that injury marks on the body of Sivagurunathan shows that he could have been hacked. “At least three persons should have been involved as the intensity of injuries show the anger of the Caste Hindus on Dalits,” claimed Palaniammal.

Chinnakannu, father of Sivagurunathan, who is differently-abled, claimed that it was the girl, who had compelled his son to go to Tirunelveli and seek permission for their marriage. Though they had forbidden him, he had not paid heed. There is a strong suspicion about the girl’s brother. “He should have arranged goons to murder my son. Strict action should be taken against the accused and all others involved should be arrested,” demanded Chinnakannu.

Speaking to DTNext , Lister claimed that they had carried out investigation at Devarkulam in Tirunelveli district, where Sivagurunathan was murdered, on Thursday and also had held discussions with the district administration. They had also demanded them to arrest the remaining two accused in the case and to disperse monetary compensation for the family of the victim, claimed Lister.
