Stalin, Thiruma, Vaiko arrested for rail roko
Thousands of farmers and cadres of various opposition parties were arrested and movement of over a dozen trains were affected, as the first of the two-day rail roko organised by the state farmers along with opposition parties against the Modi regime for not constituting Cauvery Management Board (CMB) largely passed off peacefully.

Leader of Opposition M K Stalin, VCK leader Thol Tirumavalavan and MDMK leader Vaiko were among the one’s arrested for obstructing train movement in the city.
Stalin, who had kept his participation in the rail roko under the wraps till Sunday evening, joined hundreds of his cadres at Perambur railway station, where they briefly rallied on the arterial road in front of the station before sneaking through a 200-men strong police cordon and blocking an EMU on the platform. The party district secretaries and a few senior functionaries, including former Parliamentary railway committee chairman T R Baalu who let his supporters climb on train engines at Tambaram station, expressed solidarity with farmers and courted arrest.
At Chennai Central, Vaiko, accompanied by CPM state secretary G Ramakrishnan and former CPI state secretary D Pandian, lambasted the Modi regime. Thirumavalavan and supporters were taken in to custody for attempting to detain Navjeevan Express.
