Two advocates removed from Bar

Two advocates have been removed from the rolls of the Bar Council of TN and Pondicherry while another advocate has been suspended for three years from practising before any court or tribunal for three years.

On September 16, when the contempt of court proceedings against two Ma durai-based Bar leaders were taken up in connection with the anti-helmet rally taken out by lawyers, certain advocates from Madurai allegedly created havoc in the High Court premises. Based on this, the bar council suo motu undertook disciplinary proceedings against the advocates involved. Of them, while S Jimraj Milton and S.Parthasarathy has been removed from the rolls of the Bar council, S Mahendran has been suspended for three years. 

For three others -S Mahaveer Shivaji, D Vincent Prabkar and K Kesavan-the suspension period from November 23, 2015 to till date is to be treated as punishment for the misconduct committed by them.
