The EVMs were sourced from various constituencies such as Tirumangalam and Madurai South.
The two engineers Vasanthiah and Durgaiah from the BEL then explained the procedure to representatives of various political parties in front of the Collector. Nearly 1,000 model votes were polled and the machines were tested. Officials said that they would test the machines for a minimum of two days and for a maximum of four days.
Following that Collector met the media persons and said that 1,500 EVMs and 350 control units were kept ready for the election.
