Poll fever grips Thanjavur, Aravakurichi

While speaking among the party works after inaugurating the election office at Thanjavur, DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi said, “These Assembly polls are the preamble for local body election and those who have secured seats in contesting in the local body polls should show their capability of securing more number of vote shares.”

Bharathi appealed to the workers to be ready to face anything in the poll process as the DMK has been focusing on a fair election. “The Election Commission must monitor the process keenly to curb any irregularities from time to time, otherwise people will lose faith in the EC and electoral system,” he said. He added that the state will see a political change within three months’ time and the DMK has been preparing for it. 

Later, he told the reporters that DMK has started to taste the fruit of victory in all the Assembly segments where the election is being held. He appealed to the Election Commission to act fairly and said “Otherwise, the advocate wing of the party will take required action.” “The people in Delta region are already seething with anger and they will reflect it in the election and so DMK will certainly win,” he added. 

Meanwhile, AIADMK candidates, M Rengasamy (Thanajvur) and V Senthil Balaji (Aravakurichi), engaged themselves in concentrating on the interior parts of the segments. They both urged the voters to favour them and AIADMK for the achievements of the state government. Senthil Balaji went round Mokkur, Sethamangalam, Keezhpagam, Monjanur and Anjur panchayats seeking votes on Monday.
