Ramadoss welcomes SC verdict on equal pay

Ramadoss said that this kind of employment was implemented after the new economic policy came into force. Initially, the system of hiring contract labourers was implemented to recruit temporary workers to cope up with the time gap in recruiting permanent workers. But the intermediate arrangement has now become a permanent one and promoting more work for less pay leading to exploitation of labour, he said. “Since states and Centre are involved in this form of employment there is no remedy for the contract labourers,” he added.
