He urged the state government to adopt the Business Reform Action Plan suggested by the report to boost industrial growth. The joint report came out with a 340-point Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP). According to the report, Indian states have been categorized as leaders, aspiring leaders and acceleration required.
Tamil Nadu has been declared as a state where acceleration was required. Reiterating that it clearly reflected the state government’s performance, Stalin said “Even the much advertised Global Investors Summit did not bring any benefit to the public.”
“Though AIADMK government released Vision Document 2023, it did not take it forward afterwards. On every occasion the DMK has raised several queries on the industrial climate in the state but the state government including the Chief Minister only presented a rosy picture which is dismissed by the current report,” he added.
He urged state finance Minister O Panneerselvam, who holds the industrial portfolio too, to act swiftly and set right the record by implementing the BRAP suggestions provided in the joint report, besides implementing the 98 MoU’s signed during the GIM.
