Hillary-ous! Fishy Chanakya selects Trump
While opinion polls always kept Hillary Clinton a little high over Donald Trump, Chennai’s own political pundit fish Chanakya thinks otherwise. On November 8, on the day of the US going for poll, the fish predicted that the Republican will take over as the next president of the United States and not Democrat Hillary.

While the world waits with bated breath to see who will win the US presidential elections this year, the flowerhead cichlid fish has already declared a winner – and it’s Donald Trump. It opted for the Republican candidate when pictures of the two rivals were introduced in two floats inside its aquarium. The event was organised to spread awareness about mosquitoes and Malaria, but the prediction for the world’s most watched polls, by a fish, naturally was the highlight. However, it is worth noting that the fish has been off the mark in quite a few predictions. Chennai’s Chanakya shot to fame when it had predicted the results of the 2015 cricket World Cup semi-finals correctly and declared New Zealand winner before the match, creating a lot of buzz on social media. It later also went on to predict India’s fate in the semi-final match with Australia too. Chanakya got all the last eight matches in the World Cup football correct. But it wrongly guessed an India win in the World Cup cricket finals. Australia won.
Tiger tips Clinton, bear backs Trump in Siberian zoo
A tiger and polar bear in a Siberian zoo made contrasting predictions of the outcome of US election when invited to choose between pumpkins representing Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Female tiger Yunona favoured a pumpkin carved with the image of Clinton, the Democratic nominee, while polar bear Felix opted after some deliberation for one bearing the name of Republican candidate Trump. The Royev Ruchey Zoo in Krasnoyarsk, which released a video of the two, said the animals faced a tough choice as the pumpkins had been filled with fresh meat and fish, both favourite treats with Yunona and Felix.
