DMK functionaries and members of the Lawyers Wing of DMK met the general observer of Tirupparakundram Constituency, UV Jose, and submitted their petition.
While submitting their petition they claimed that RO had been placing unfair restrictions on them in displaying their party flag and symbol in public place.
The DMK cadres also showed photo proof and alleged that RO had given permission to place the flags of AIADMK for 2 km but did not allow them to place their flag for over 50 m. Regarding obtaining permission for campaigning they were given one only in the last minute unlike the AIADMK.
They also claimed that they had submitted permission for opening party office at S Puliankulam in Tirupparakundram constituency a week prior to the inauguration date but it was denied. Apart from that Jeeva, who is the District Supplies Officer, comes under the Ministry of Cooperation which is looked after by Minister of Coopration, Sellur K Raju who is looking after the by-election. So there is every chance that RO would favour the ruling party. Also the RO interacts well only with AIADMK functionaries and not with them. Therefore she sshould be changed for free and fair election demanded DMK.
