Justice N Kirubakaran while passing the interim direction ordered notice to the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs, SIFO and to the Church of South Indian Trust Association (CSITA) returnable by four weeks. E Prem Kumar, a permanent member of the CSI, Slater Nagar Pastorate, Perundurai, Coimbatore Diocese, had submitted that his complaints against CISTA of indulging in illegalities and irregularities, including non-compliance of provisions of Companies Act 2013 had led to the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs ordering a probe by SFIO.
But notwithstanding this, the CSI Coimbatore Diocese has announced election to the diocese to be held from November 14 to 16 at CSI All Soul’s Church Parish Hall, Race Course Road, the petitioner alleged and sought it to be stopped. Contending that he made representations objecting the election to the diocese when a probe by the SFIO is pending, the petitioner claimed that he had no choice other than moving the high court since no action was taken on his representation by the authorities.
He wanted the court to pass an interim injunction against the CSI Coimbatore Diocese restraining it from conducting the elections and then a permanent stay until the completion of the investigation by SFIO.
