Flying squads deputed to prevent bribery in Nellithope
Election authorities here have pressed into service flying squads to prevent distribution of cash or gift articles to induce voters in Nellithope constituency, going to by-election on November 19, a senior district election official said today.

A release from the office of District Election Officer, Satyendra Singh Dursawat said any information in this regard can be passed on to the DEO office by calling the toll free phone number 1950.
Any person giving or taking cash or gift articles during election process to exercise franchise is an offence under Indian Penal Code, it said.
Similarly, any person threatening any candidate or electors with injury of any kind would also face action and the offence is punishable with imprisonment of up to one year or fine or both.
The office of DEO has opened a complaint monitoring cell to attend to all information regarding bribing of voters or intimidation and threatening of voters in the constituency, the release added.
