AIVRS is a system where the mobile numbers of all the presiding officers of polling booths were fed into the server and there would be periodic calls to know the details of the polling of votes and booths.

The collector said that the total number of votes polled were updated instantly by the presiding officials and the new system was highly successful. Out of 291 presiding officials more than 285 presiding officials entered the details of the total polled votes on real time basis claimed the Collector. The success lies in the response rate and not on the number of calls received, he explained.

Election officials claimed that a window would pop out in the app and the officials need to enter the total number of polled votes manually. Certain element of manual work is also required in the system claimed the officials.
